Face Shields

As the Covid-19 pandemic surged at the beginning of 2020 and the country experienced a drastic shortage of personal protective equipment, at Midwest Plastics, we immediately responded to the crisis by implementing an internal program for face shield manufacturing.

This face shield has a simple yet very effective design that covers the wearer’s forehead, extends below the chin, and wraps around the side of their face. By covering the entire facial area, the face shield prevents infectious droplets from reaching the eyes, nose, and mouth of healthcare workers and other wearers. It also helps wearers avoid touching their face.

Our version of the face shield is offered as a kit that features a clear PETG thermoformed plastic shield measuring 12” long x 8.5” wide, an HDPE forehead band, a stick-on foam strip for cushioning, and a non-latex elastic strap for securing it firmly to the head. It is easy and foolproof to assemble, the shield snaps on the headband, and the rubber strap is adjustable to the size of the wearer’s head. It is very comfortable and can be worn safely for long periods.

With our ability to quickly develop and tool a production plan and set up our facility according to social-distancing guidelines, we successfully brought this product to the market. We manufacture it in any quantity for prompt delivery. Face shields offer an extra measure of protection for those in the medical and dental, food service, food processing, manufacturing, construction, and many other industries.
