Thermoforming Services
With our thermoforming capabilities, Midwest Plastics manufactures high-quality parts for customers in a range of industries. Our equipment includes both automated inline and manual thermoforming machines, and we leverage either vacuum forming or pressure forming methods to generate parts in a range of gauges, shapes, and sizes. We produce thermoformed parts for many different applications, with clamshell packaging being one of our specialties.
Thermoforming offers some benefits when compared to other conventional methods of plastics manufacturing. It is beneficial for making large parts, and it provides a lot of design freedom. The tooling costs are much lower than injection molding, and thermoforming enables us to produce high-quality products, and we offer many different options for materials, finishes, patterns, and textures.
We offer a wide choice of plastics in thin to thick gauges. Some examples include ABS, acrylic, PET, PVC, polyethylene, polyurethane films, and many others. With our expert capabilities, we design and build the molds in-house, usually on a relatively fast timetable. Customers often use thermoforming in combination with our other services, such as deburring, drilling, riveting, hardware insertion, painting, and other secondary operations that we provide here in-house.
As a quality-focused plastics manufacturer, we build numerous quality checkpoints into our thermoforming process. We also carry out final inspections to ensure parts conform to specifications and required industry standards, such as ANSI, FAA, FDA, Mil-spec, SAE, UL, and others. Along with prototype and small quantities, we fill orders for large production volumes. For more information about our thermoforming capabilities or to make an inquiry, contact us directly.
